The EPA recently sent out an RRP Enforcement Alert warning Connecticut contractors that they will be focusing their investigations on Connecticut jobsites. Here’s their wording… “Over the next year, representatives from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 1 will focus their investigations on companies and contractors in Connecticut (CT) who conduct renovation, repair, and/or painting activities to determine compliance with EPA’s lead-based paint RRP Rule. The facts are clear: Respirable crystalline silica exposure causes silicosis, a disabling and sometimes fatal lung disease. In 2019, the CDC reported on this disease being found in Engineered Stone Fabrication Workers in four states.
