If you are considering this grant, I urge you to have whomever will be in charge of this application to read this now and start the process. Here are the steps to begin:

Step 1: Preparation

To ensure a smooth submission, please follow the FY27 Checklist

  • Download Documents: You may download the required contractual forms from https://www.mass.gov/info-details/safetyworks-training-grant
  • Complete Paperwork: Fill out all prerequisite documents in their entirety. These must be ready to upload at the time of submission; incomplete applications cannot be submitted without these documents.
  • Review Guidance: Read the User Guide available at https://www.mass.gov/doc/dia-safety-grant-user-guide/download
  • Important: A Certificate of Good Standing from the Department of Revenue, Mass Tax Connect less than 6 months old must be provided at the time of submission. Do Not upload a certificate from the Secretary of the Commonwealth, it will not satisfy this requirement.

Step 2: The Application Process

Please keep the following in mind:

  • Submission: Upload your completed contractual documents directly on the required documents page of the application portal.
  • Training Goals Focus Areas: Applications are judged on two main criteria:
    • Compelling Need: Why is this training necessary for your workplace?
    • Impact: How will this training improve safety outcomes for employees and how?

Some of the items you will need require YOU filing for from other departments within the state, so you really need to begin now obtaining these documents. In addition, you will need our proposal for the training you seek as well as our trainer resumes. Please leave us some time to prepare and deliver these to you.

As always, our awesome staff is well aware of this process and is ready to help you as you navigate through the submission.

If you have a group of smaller sub contractors, we can pull together a consortium which allows you to all get trained at same time together – another way we can help you get this done!

We are ready to help you get the help you need to keep your crew safe. Feel free to reach out to Peter (peter@leadsmarttraining.com) if you have any questions or need additional information.
