The estimated annual cost of ladder injuries in the U.S. is $24 billion, including work loss, medical, legal, liability and pain and suffering expenses. More than 500,000 people are treated and about 300 people die from ladder-related injuries. OSHA requires employers to provide a training program for each employee using ladders and stairways. This training enables each employee to recognize hazards and understand the procedures to follow to minimize these hazards.
Don’t worry, this training isn’t boring. These trainers are contractors too and always keep things interesting…and what you learn could save your life! Everyone should purchase and complete the classes marked “Basic.” All Supervisors and those who use specialty ladders should purchase and complete the “Basic” class PLUS the “Advanced” class.
