
LeadSMART Training Solutions provides live, instructor-led safety and certification training for contractors, supervisors, business owners, project managers, and tradespeople throughout Massachusetts. We are expanding our asbestos training programs and looking for an experienced asbestos professional who can bring practical industry knowledge into the classroom.
The ideal candidate may already have training experience, but prior teaching experience is not required. For the right person with extensive asbestos-industry knowledge, LeadSMART can provide guidance and training on how to effectively teach our courses.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver engaging, practical classroom training to adult learners, including asbestos workers, supervisors, contractors, project managers, and other industry professionals
- Teach asbestos-related certification, refresher, and safety courses at training locations throughout Massachusetts
- Explain technical procedures, regulatory requirements, health hazards, work practices, and safety standards in a clear and practical way
- Use real-world experience and examples to help students understand how classroom material applies in the field
- Represent LeadSMART professionally and create a positive, credible, and effective learning experience for every class
- Work with the LeadSMART team to learn course materials, instructional methods, classroom procedures, and program requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Extensive professional experience working in the asbestos industry
- Experience as an asbestos supervisor, project manager, business owner, consultant, inspector, or other experienced industry professional is strongly preferred
- A thorough understanding of asbestos work practices, jobsite safety, regulatory compliance, and industry procedures
- A sharp, articulate communicator who can make technical and regulatory material understandable and relevant
- Comfort with public speaking and working with adult learners
- Prior teaching, employee training, safety meeting, or toolbox-talk experience is helpful but not required
- A willingness to be trained by LeadSMART on how to deliver effective classroom instruction
- Relevant asbestos licenses, certifications, and instructor qualifications are a plus
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly to class locations throughout Massachusetts
- Reliable personal transportation
Position Details
Schedule: Part-time, per diem, or full-time opportunities may be available, depending on experience and class assignments
Training: LeadSMART can train the right asbestos-industry professional to become an effective instructor
Location: Field-based, with classes held at various training locations throughout Massachusetts
Growth path: Potential for increased teaching assignments and a larger role within LeadSMART for the right candidate
