Respirator Fit Training and Testing
This class is designed to meet OSHA’s training requirement for employers who are required to provide respiratory protection for their employees.
During this class, students will be shown:
- Why respirators are needed and their limitations
- How to use, inspect and maintain their respirators
- General requirements of the Respirator Standard
A certificate of completion will be issued at completion of the training course. A laminated respirator fit test card is available to purchase. Employers receive training records for their files.
If you only need fit testing for tight fitting respirators, you must show a certificate of training that’s valid within 1 year of the fit testing date.
* We will walk you through the process to submit your medical questionnaire to receive the required medical clearance letter prior to class. You cannot take the class without this documentation.
Respirators and supplies are available to purchase at these classes.
Medical Clearance Policy
EMPLOYERS – PLEASE READ:
Under 29 CFR 1910.134(c), the employer bears direct responsibility for the entire Written Respiratory Protection Program, including:

This can be understood such as when you send a worker for fit testing – it is your responsibility to have the Medical Clearance BEFORE you have a worker fit tested.
Fit Testing Requirements
Employers must provide annual fit testing BEFORE USE & ANNUALLY for appropriate tight fitting respirator their worker was trained for and medically cleared.
