MAINE CONTRACTORS: The EPA has announced that will begin “an effort to improve compliance with laws that protect children from lead paint poisoning” in the Lewiston/Auburn, Maine area. This includes “steps the Agency is taking to increase compliance… with the federal lead-based paint Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule.”

The press release notes that the Lewiston/Auburn area “has the highest number of incidences in the state of children under the age of six with elevated blood lead levels.”

Folks, while you should know what it is, doublecheck your RRP certificate expiration date. If you’re due to renew, then renew! You don’t want to get dinged with a fine from the EPA and I know you want to keep yourself, your family, and your clients safe. Click here to view our Maine RRP Refresher Class schedule.

Don’t have a certificate but you work on homes built before 1978? Then click here to view our Maine RRP Initial Class schedule.
